IT Project Manager — Public Sector / SAP Programs

About the Role

JAPR Inc. is a pre-qualified IT services vendor to multiple Canadian provincial governments. We are building a roster of senior IT Project Managers to lead enterprise transformation programs — including SAP S/4HANA migrations, ERP implementations, infrastructure modernization, and digital service delivery — for our public sector clients.

Successful candidates join our pipeline and are matched to specific engagements as they arise. Engagements typically run 6–24 months with potential extensions.

What You’ll Do

• Lead end-to-end IT project delivery in complex enterprise environments
• Manage SAP and ERP implementation initiatives, including S/4HANA, Ariba, Fieldglass, and SuccessFactors deployments
• Coordinate large system integration vendors and concurrent multi-vendor engagements
• Develop business cases, Statements of Work, project charters, and resource/cost/schedule plans
• Lead Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid (SAP Activate) delivery approaches
• Facilitate workshops, executive briefings, and stakeholder communications
• Navigate public sector governance, procurement, and compliance frameworks

Mandatory Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience managing Information Technology projects
• Valid PMP or Prince2 Practitioner certification
• Demonstrated expertise across full project lifecycles — planning, resource/cost/schedule estimation, execution, closure
• Experience developing business cases for enterprise IT initiatives
• Experience planning and managing projects in a public sector organization
• Experience working on SAP projects
• Experience managing multiple projects concurrently
• Experience working on large ERP implementation projects
• Experience managing projects with large system integration vendors
• Strong oral, written, and presentation communication skills
• Ability to obtain a clean criminal record check; enhanced background check may be required

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP Project Management experience in S/4HANA, Ariba, Fieldglass, or SuccessFactors
• Exposure to SAP Activate Methodology in a Hybrid Agile delivery approach
• Solid working knowledge of the SAP landscape, modules, and terminology
• Experience liaising between SAP / System Integrator consultants and business SMEs
• Located in or willing to relocate to / travel onsite to Winnipeg, MB
