Challenge
The client lacked in-house expertise on the open-source network automation tools their enterprise customers expected. The gap was costing them deals — and, by extension, their next funding round. They needed senior engineering judgment quickly, not a year-long hire process.
Solution
We brought industry experts in to advise on integrating open-source automation products into the client's existing observability pipeline. We designed automation flows that streamlined the operator workflows their customers cared about, and validated the architecture against the deals already on the table.
Outcome
The client closed the enterprise customers their automation story had been blocking, scaled rapidly through the pipeline, and went on to raise a Series A round from top-tier Silicon Valley VCs. Their company valuation grew 2.3× over the engagement.
Challenge
The client built a network observability and monitoring platform aimed at enterprise customers. As they scaled into larger deals, prospective customers consistently asked about open-source network automation — a space the client team had no in-house expertise in. The gap was a recurring objection in late-stage sales conversations, and it was starting to threaten the next funding round.
Solution
We embedded a small senior team to advise on incorporating open-source automation products into the client’s existing observability pipeline. The work spanned architecture review, prototype integration, and a documented set of automation flows the client could demo to prospects.
We focused the design work on the operator workflows their target customers actually used day-to-day, validated the integrations against three live deal opportunities, and handed over reference implementations the client’s engineering team could extend.
Outcome
The client closed the deals their automation story had been blocking, scaled their pipeline through the year, and raised a Series A round from top-tier Silicon Valley VCs. Their valuation grew 2.3× over the engagement window — and the open-source automation capability remains a load-bearing part of their enterprise pitch.
